How to read a strategy board fast

I used to bounce off tactics games because I'd move units without a plan and then wonder why everything fell apart. Grinding through Ironline Tactics forced me to fix that, and the habits carry over to the whole genre.

First: check enemy range before you move anything. Most losses come from stepping into a threat you didn't count. Spend the ten seconds to look.

Second: think in terms of who gets attacked next turn, not just this turn. Good positioning is about the board two moves ahead. Sounds obvious, but it changed my win rate immediately.

Third: use the undo button shamelessly while learning. It's a teaching tool, not cheating. Once the patterns click, you'll stop needing it.

None of this is genius-level stuff, but small discipline beats big brainpower here. Slow down, read the board, then commit.
