Games I play to wind down at night
Not every evening calls for a competitive grind. Sometimes I just want something soft to hold my attention while I decompress, and mobile has quietly become great at that.
Lantern Hollow is my go-to lately. The hand-drawn art and slow pace make it feel less like a game and more like turning the pages of an illustrated book. Puzzles are gentle enough not to spike your brain right before bed.
Building sims work too, in a low-key mode. Poking at an outpost in Skybound Outpost without any pressure is oddly meditative when you ignore the storm warnings for a bit.
The common thread is no fail states that punish you. When a game can't ruin your mood at 11pm, it earns a permanent slot on the phone. Speed and stress are for daytime.
